Public Workshop Flyer

A theatre project in Leith creating a space to explore Identity, Diversity and Integration. Living together in difficult times.

FREE PUBLIC WORKSHOP

We live in a diverse society in terms of ethnic origin, age, class, ability and many other factors. But what does diversity really mean? Can diversity be a barrier to integration? Leith has been a diverse community for centuries but new developments have coined the term “New Leith” and reinstated the debate over who can call themselves a “Leither”. Is there a danger that cuts to public services and the Welfare Reform Act might cause diverse communities to fragment? What can we do to stop this?

Active Inquiry is a Leith-based theatre company making theatre with and for the people of Leith. We are developing a piece of Forum theatre exploring the theme of Identity, Diversity and Integration. To start the development process we are holding a public workshop to hear your stories and investigate your experiences and ideas. All are welcome – especially if you live, work or play in Leith. Performances will take place throughout Leith at the end of November/ beginning of December.
