Not For Profit – Follow-up Meeting

12th December, 2011 - Posted by Gavin - 1 Comment

Thank you to everyone who came along to Leith Circle on Tuesday 6th December for the Not For Profit audience follow-up meeting.

Leith Circle full of people

The shop was full up as we spent an hour sharing reflections from the performances and plans for after Christmas. We were genuinely moved by some comments including:

“It was a good way to express your anger. That’s why I’m here tonight.”

“It’s about taking action. I did something the next day I had swithered about before.”

“I picked up that everyday situations – when authority is on you – can be a downward spiral of negativity.”

The project will continue after Christmas by inviting all audience members, and those interested in exploring the public sector cuts through theatre, to meet with us once a week on a Tuesday evening starting Tuesday 7th February to prepare for a community event on Saturday 12th May. This event will involve the pieces of Forum Theatre that you create as well as other workshops and talks. The aim of the event is to create an Action Plan to take forward.

If you are interested in getting involved then please contact us on gavin@activeinquiry.co.uk

Well done guys! I’m sorry I couldn’t make it in the follow-up meeting, I’m sure it was full of energy and ideas. I got to see your performance at Leith Family Centre. I enjoyed so much and took a few things away with me. I can’t forget my fellows in the audience for their sincere empathizing, their brave contributions in the play and the funny bits! Looking forward to the next one!
