News Group

24 hours a day the News is streamed to us through newspapers, television and the internet. Every week we are bombarded with thousands of words and images to process and try to understand. This sheer amount of information can turn us into passive consumers of current affairs, and a society obsessed with consumption has to continue to churn out more and more images and words for us to consume.

This is an occasional workshop in partnership with Leith Open Space which uses a range of drama and other techniques to analyse current news stories and explore how we can become active participants in current affairs rather than passive consumers.

No previous experience is necessary!

Workshops normally take place on a Saturday morning from 10am-1pm at Pilmeny Youth Centre, Buchanan Street, Edinburgh and cost £5.
